چکیده

A sequence d of integers is a degree sequence if there exists a (simple) graph G such that the components of d are equal to the degrees of the vertices of G. The graph G is said to be a realization of d. We provide an efficient parallel algorithm to realize d; the algorithm runs in O(logn) time using O(n+m) CRCW PRAM processors, where n and m are the number of vertices and edges in G. Before our result, it was not known if the problem of realizing d is in NC.

Parallel Generation of t-ary Trees

A parallel algorithm for generating t-ary tree sequences in reverse B-order is presented. The algorithm generates t-ary trees by 0-1 sequences, and each 0-1 sequences is generated in constant average time O(1). The algorithm is executed on a CREW SM SIMD model, and is adaptive and cost-optimal. Prior to the discussion of the parallel algorithm a new sequential generation with O(1) average time ...

Algorithms for realizing degree sequences of directed graphs

The Havel-Hakimi algorithm for constructing realizations of degree sequences for undirected graphs has been used extensively in the literature. A result by Kleitman and Wang extends the Havel-Hakimi algorithm to degree sequences for directed graphs. In this paper we go a step further and describe a modification of Kleitman and Wang’s algorithm that is a more natural extension of Havel-Hakimi’s ...

A Characterization of the Degree Sequences of 2-trees

A graph G is a 2-tree if G = K3, or G has a vertex v of degree 2, whose neighbours are adjacent, and G\v is a 2-tree. A characterization of the degree sequences of 2-trees is given. This characterization yields a linear-time algorithm for recognizing and realizing degree sequences of 2-trees.

Parallel implementation of underwater acoustic wave propagation using beamtracing method on graphical processing unit

The mathematical modeling of the acoustic wave propagation in seawater is the basis for realizing goals such as, underwater communication, seabed mapping, advanced fishing, oil and gas exploration, marine meteorology, positioning and explore the unknown targets within the water. However, due to the existence of various physical phenomena in the water environment and the various conditions gover...

NP-Hardness and Fixed-Parameter Tractability of Realizing Degree Sequences with Directed Acyclic Graphs

In graph realization problems one is given a degree sequence and the task is to decide whether there is a graph whose vertex degrees match the given sequence. This realization problem is known to be polynomial-time solvable when the graph is directed or undirected. In contrast, we show NP-completeness for the problem of realizing a given sequence of pairs of nonnegative integers (representing i...
